After that, there is no stopping him, just like in the Rainbow Bridge story which is supposedly anonymous, but which in reality was sent over to the humans by Big Dog.

Allow me to tell you about several of the reunions that I have personally witnessed. I couldn’t possibly pick any favorites, because they all defy doggy description.

Boots was a scruffy little vagabond of unknown origins who lived with a street person named Milly. They met while hanging around the back of an Italian restaurant waiting for scraps. A waitress came out the back with several “to go” containers for Milly, and the bag lady shared some of the food with Boots, thus cementing the dog’s admiration of her permanently. The dog would not leave, even though Milly tried shooing her away. Not that Milly was mean spirited, mind you; she just had enough trouble taking care of herself, let alone some mangy mutt. Boots would not be deterred, and Milly finally caved to the little dog’s antics.
